Dr. Драгана Ćorić, assistant professor

Professor Ćorić was born in 1976 in Leskovac. She graduated from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2000. She received her LL.M. degree from the Deutsche Rechtsschule by the Law Faculties of Novi Sad and Münster. She received her Magister of Law degree from the University of Niš Faculty of Law in 2005 (“Time in Law”). She defended her doctoral dissertation (“The Principle of Acquired Rights and the Retroactive Effect of the Law”) at the University of Niš Faculty of Law in 2011.

Fellowships and grants: at the initiative of students of the organization Young Lawyers of Serbia, she was selected as one of the ten best young lawyers in the Republic of Serbia (2007); special recognition for the promotion of safe communities (2008); October Award of Novi Sad for raising awareness about the safety of children and youth in Novi Sad (2014); elected, by the votes of students, for one of the ten best and most inspiring professors of the University of Novi Sad during the event “Researchers’ Night” (2016).

Courses attended and/or visiting scholar: specialisation course Comparative Studies of Central Europe in Specialist Academic Studies in Novi Sad (2002).

Employment: intern (2000); the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law (2001- ).

• One of the founders and currently the President of the City Council of Parents, the consultative body of parents for the territory of the City of Novi Sad (2013, 2018- )
• Certified trainer in the field of protection against discrimination, in accordance with the training program conducted by the Office of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality of the Republic of Serbia (2014- )
• One of the founders of the professional association – Serbian Association for Legal and Social Philosophy and a Board member (2010- ) and a Supervisory Board member (2014- )
• Participation in the work of the Coordination Body for the Safety of Children and Youth in Primary and Secondary Schools in Novi Sad (2014- )
• At the invitation of students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, who have been organizing a special academy of skills Soft Skills Academy for years, for 4 consecutive years she is a lecturer on topics: Time Management, Stress Management, Motivation, Public Speaking (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020)
• Founder of the Novi Sad School of Law and Skills, together with students who participated in the drafting of the law for the prevention of peer violence (2016)
• Member of the HERE Team Serbia – national network of experts for higher education reform (2015-2017)
• Member of the Supervisory Board of the Budget Fund for the treatment of injuries, diseases and illnesses that cannot be successfully treated in the Republic of Serbia (2014-2016)
• Coordinator of the project “Responsible Journalism between Law and Politics” with students – members of the student newspaper Pravnik, with the support of the home faculty and the Provincial Secretariat for Education (2007)
• Participation in the establishment of the Office of the Student Ombudsman, protector of student rights at the University of Novi Sad (2006)
• A member of numerous drafting teams at the ministries, as well as at the local level for writing new or amending existing regulations
