Dr. Dragutin Avramović, full professor

Professor Avramović was born in 1980 in Belgrade. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 2003 with a GPA 9.87. He passed the bar exam in 2006. He received his Magister of Law degree from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2009 (“Introducing the State of Emergency”). He defended his doctoral dissertation summa cum laude (“Contemporary Legal State (Rechtsstaat) – Legal Theory Aspects”) at the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2011.

Fellowships and grants: scholarship of the Government of the Republic of Serbia (2000-2003); scholarship of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway (2002).

Courses attended and/or visiting scholar: participated in the ERASMUS+ program as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Law, University LUMSA, Palermo, Italy (2018).

Employment: law clerk at the First Municipal Court in Belgrade (2004-2006); Police Academy in Belgrade (now the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies) (2004-2012); University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law (2012- ).

Areas of research and expertise: theory of state, the rule of law, human rights, state of emergency, the art of rhetoric.

Languages: English (fluent), French (passive knowledge), Latin (elementary level).
