Dr. Sandra Samardžić, assistant professor

Dr. Samardžić was born in 1984 in Novi Sad. She graduated from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2008. She received her Master of Law degree from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law (“Subjects of In Vitro Fertilization Procedure in Comparative Law and Their Legal Position”) in 2010. She defended her doctoral dissertation (“Children’s Rights in the Field of Medically Assisted Reproduction”) at the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law in 2018.

Fellowships and grants: scholarship of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia for the best students in the final year of state faculties for exceptional results during their studies (2006); the award of the University of Novi Sad for the best students and success achieved during their studies (2007/2008); scholarship for young researchers of the Scholarship Committee within the World Association for Family Law for participating in the scientific meeting entitled Family Law and Family Realities (2017).

Courses attended and/or visiting scholar: participation in an intensive German language summer course “Kommunikation im universitären Kontext – mündlich präsentieren”, Faculty of Law, University of Potsdam, Germany (2017); participation in the seminar “Bioethics and Human Rights: Recent ECtHR Case Law”, Academy of European Law, Strasbourg, France (2018); basic training for mediators (2020); specialized training for mediators in family disputes (2020).

Employment: The University of Novi Sad Faculty of Law (2008- ).

Areas of research and expertise: family law, comparative family law, legal aspects of medically assisted reproduction.
